(more) The 2006 Shiraz (75%) – Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) “Anaperenna” is the wine formerly known as Godolphin, the change resulting from a trademark dispute. It was aged for 15 months in new French and American oak. Opaque purple, it offers a sensational bouquet of pain grille, scorched earth, meat, game, blueberry, and black currants. This is followed by a surprisingly elegant yet powerful, structured wine with gobs of spicy fruit, ripe tannins, and a plush texture. The long, 60-second finish is succulent and sweet. Give this classy wine 4-6 years in the cellar and enjoy it through 2030. Hats off to Ben Glaetzer for producing an extraordinary portfolio!
The renowned winemaker, Ben Glaetzer, sources all of his fruit for this label from the Ebenezer district in the northern Barossa. Many knowledgeable experts cite this sub-region as the finest in the Valley.

(more) The 2006 Proprietary Red Wine Tapestry Reserve (a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot) is the finest example of this cuvee I have ever tasted. Flowery, licorice-infused, cassis notes intermixed with forest floor and lead pencil shavings are followed by a layered, impressively built wine with real opulence, lots of red and black fruits, low acidity, and lush tannin. It should drink well for 15+ years. Robert Parker

(more) An impressive blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot, and 5% Merlot, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill reveals some elevated toasty oak in the nose, but the fruit quality, richness, and overall intensity suggest the wood will be absorbed completely in another 3-4 years. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by an oaky nose revealing scents of blue fruits, black currants, licorice, and spice box. This full-bodied Cabernet possesses sweet fruit, good integration of acidity and tannin, and a long finish. Give it another two years in the bottle, and drink it over the following 12-15. 92 Points -- Robert Parker

(more) Looking for "Cult California cabernet sauvignon??" It doesn't get any more Cult than this for less than 3 figures! Hollywood & Vine is a treasure of the boutique, small-production Napa Valley landscape. Made by one of the most famous women winemakers in the world, Celia Masyczek, formerly of equally-Cult Staglin Family Vineyard, this is ONE BANGIN' BOTTLE!

(more) The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a beauty, with dark ruby/purple color and a big sweet nose of tobacco leaf intermixed with black currant, black cherry, new saddle leather, and white chocolate. The wine is full-bodied, powerful, with superb purity, texture, and length. It’s approachable now but promises to be better in 3-4 years, and last for at least 15 or more.
A I said last year, this relatively new producer is off to a flying start. Winemaker Sean Capiaux (who has his own Pinot Noir operation) seems to be doing some stunning work with this 35-acre vineyard, planted with 29 acres of Cabernet and the rest other Bordeaux varietals. There is also a small cuvee (under 1,000 cases) of Cabernet Sauvignon from Mt. Veeder. Tasting through some barrel samples of 2006 showed this to be a very fine vintage, if not up to the level of 2005 and 2004, at least at this stage in their development.
